Welcome to the new school year!
Eli is in 5th grade this year and Jack is starting kindergarten.
It has been a fun summer with a lot of really wet and wild swimming days but we are looking forward to a new year full of exploring and making friends.
Eli has started homeschool choir again, singing with other area homeschool kids each Monday. Jack is starting homeschool soccer club again with the fall sessions being held outside which will be so much fun.
I have joined a homeschool support group where I hope to make some new friends for all of us.
This year Eli will use Masterbooks curriculum for language arts, math, and science. We will focus on weather in science this year – this is one of Eli’s obsessions. He requested and received a weather radio for his birthday last month and loves to hear the weekly weather alerts.
For history we are going to continue reading Rush Limbaugh’s Rush Revere books and will study the American Revolution as well as the first 10 presidents.
Jack is also going to use a Masterbooks curriculum for kindergarten as well as phonics work and fun apps on his tablet. He is already reading and spelling, all learned from playing two of his favorite games – Minecraft and Roblox!
Both boys will be creating videos each week and posting them on their Rumble channels, so be sure to tune in and watch!
We will also visit the climbing gym more this fall since both boys love to climb!
Here’s to a great and productive school year here at Rawah Academy! Cheers!
